Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), established in 1997, is a private Malaysian university wholly owned by Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), the country’s largest electric utility company. The main campus is located in Putrajaya, with a branch campus in Bandar Muadzam Shah, Pahang. UNITEN has achieved a ‘Tier 5 Excellent Rating’ from the SETARA Rating system and is certified by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). In the 2025 QS World University Rankings, UNITEN is placed in the 641-650 band, reflecting its commitment to academic excellence.

Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in engineering, information technology, business management, and related fields. The university conducts its courses primarily in English and provides an Intensive English Programme (IEP) to enhance students’ language proficiency, preparing them for the Malaysian University English Test (MUET).

English language proficiency is essential, with foundation and diploma programs requiring an IELTS score of 5.0 or TOEFL 500, and bachelor’s programs requiring an IELTS score of 6.0 or TOEFL 550. 

Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) fosters a vibrant global community, attracting students from over 30 countries. The International Office (IO) plays a pivotal role in supporting these students, assisting with registration, accommodation, visa matters, health issues, and cultural adjustment.
