Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), established on May 18, 1970, is a prominent public research university located in Bangi, Selangor, Malaysia. Initially comprising three faculties, it has expanded to 13 faculties, 12 research institutes, and two commercial entities: UKM Holdings Sdn. Bhd. and UKM Technology Sdn. Bhd. The main campus is in Bangi, with additional campuses in Kuala Lumpur and Cheras, the latter housing the Faculty of Medicine and the UKM Medical Centre. UKM was designated a Malaysian Research University in 2006 and is ranked within the 401–500 bracket globally in the World University Rankings 2025. The university’s philosophy emphasizes integrating faith in the Almighty with constructive knowledge, aiming to lead the development of a learned, dynamic, and moral society.

ACADEMIC PROGRAMS AND LANGUAGE POLICY
Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across various faculties, including Social Sciences and Humanities, Law, Dentistry, Engineering and Built Environment, Science and Technology, Education, Economics and Management, Medicine, Pharmacy, Information Science and Technology, Islamic Studies, and Health Sciences. Established in 1970 to promote Bahasa Malaysia as the medium of instruction, UKM has adapted to global educational trends by incorporating English into its curriculum, especially for science and technology courses.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
International applicants to Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) must have completed 12 years of primary and secondary education, obtaining a high school certificate or equivalent, and meet the minimum English language proficiency requirements set by the respective faculty. For postgraduate programs, a recognized Bachelor’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 is generally required.
