Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (UNITAR), established in 1997, is one of Malaysia’s first private universities. After UNITAR’s ownership moved from KUB to Yayasan PINTAR (the Tun Abdul Razak family foundation), its identity was changed to UNITAR in 2007. Now wholly owned by Yayasan Pelaburan Bumiputra, which also owns PNB and PUNB, UNITAR is recognized for its strong industry collaborations and innovative initiatives. It has earned prestigious accolades, including the SETARA 5-star rating and the Malaysian Education Excellence Award. Through platforms like UROX and initiatives such as Akademi TVET UNITAR (ATUR), the university remains committed to accessibility, lifelong learning, and skill development in Malaysia.

  • Vision : To ensure that UNITAR graduates are the top choice for employers, enterprises and industries.
  • Mission : To achieve 100% employability for graduates of UNITAR.
  • Location : Located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
  • Facilities : UNITAR offers a modern campus with a library, gym, Happiness Room, and computer lab, along with off-campus accommodations at Residensi Teratai Condo featuring a pool, gym, and 24/7 security.

UNITAR offers a range of programs, including foundation, diploma, bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. degrees in fields like business, accounting, IT, economics, and education. The university emphasizes English proficiency, requiring international students to meet IELTS Band 4.5 or equivalent and take a placement test. English support programs are also available for language enhancement.

UNITAR’s admission criteria vary by program level. For foundation and diploma programs, applicants must meet the university’s general and specific entry requirements. Bachelor’s degree candidates need to fulfill both general university and program-specific criteria. Master’s applicants should possess a relevant bachelor’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.50; those with a CGPA between 2.00 and 2.50 may be considered following a rigorous internal assessment. International students are typically required to demonstrate English proficiency, such as a minimum IELTS score of Band 4.5 or an equivalent qualification.

UNITAR fosters a vibrant student life within a global community, welcoming students from diverse countries. The campus’s open-plan design encourages unity and collaboration, reflecting the Razakian spirit. Students can engage in various clubs and societies, such as the Student Representative Council (SRC), to enhance leadership and organizational skills. The university’s International Students Unit (ISU) supports international students, ensuring a meaningful and productive stay in Malaysia.
