Universiti Geomatika Malaysia (UGM) began in 2000 as a vocational center specializing in Land Surveying. Recognizing the increasing demand for expertise in this field, the institution sought and received approval from the Ministry of Education to attain college status. This led to the creation of the Department of Geospatial and Land Development, along with the launch of the Centre of GIS (CeGIS) Short Courses Program in Geospatial Technology and a Certificate in Land Assistantship Surveying. In 2014, UGM was elevated to a full university college by the Ministry of Higher Education. Today, UGM has expanded its reach with satellite campuses in Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, and Keningau. A leading global university committed to disseminating education by optimizing locations and available resources.

Universiti Geomatika Malaysia (UGM) offers a wide range of academic programs across multiple faculties, including Geospatial Science, Bioeconomics, Education, Technology, Business, and Hospitality. These programs span from diploma to postgraduate levels, covering fields such as Geomatics, GIS, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Education, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Business Administration, and Law Enforcement. UGM’s language policy prioritizes English as the primary medium of instruction, ensuring students are well-prepared for global career opportunities. The university also provides open and distance learning (ODL) options for selected programs, making education more accessible to working professionals and international students.

Geomatika University College requires STPM (Grade C, CGPA 2.00), STAM (“Jayyid”), foundation/matriculation (CGPA 2.00), or a related diploma for bachelor’s programs. Diploma courses need SPM/O-Level with three credits, including Mathematics, or a relevant certificate (CGPA 2.00). UEC holders need Grade B in key subjects. International students must meet English requirements (IELTS 5.5/TOEFL 450).
